Show Ponies is back! After smash-hit sold out shows for Verb in 2020, Show Ponies has performed to packed crowds as near as Featherston and as far as Brisbane. Now the show returns to its spiritual home with a brand new lineup of eight poetry icons: Emma Barnes, Vanessa Mei Crofskey, Dan Goodwin, Nathan Joe, Rachel McAlpine, essa may ranapiri, Ruby Solly and Selina Tusitala Marsh.
If you haven’t heard of Show Ponies, the concept is simple: poets are pop stars now. It’s poetry with the volume right up, more gig than reading. Aotearoa’s most engaging live poets perform their work in outrageous costumes, amongst bright lights, beats and backup dancers.
