NZSA President of Honour Witi Ihimaera: The annual NZSA Janet Frame Memorial Lecture

After a year of travelling internationally and nationally to celebrate his 50th year as a published writer, Witi Ihimaera returns to Wellington for his final event of the year: The annual NZSA Janet Frame Memorial Lecture: Wetewete Te Wheke! Release The Kraken! Opening the Gates on Literature in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Matua Witi’s lecture will be followed by brief readings from five emerging writers (essa may ranapiri, Emma Sidnam, Michelle Rahurahu, Helena Claudia and Ruby Solly), and then a supper and book signing, serenaded by live opera.

Presented in partnership with New Zealand Society of Authors Te Puni Kaituhi O Aotearoa (PEN NZ) Inc and National Library of New Zealand Te Puna Mātaruanga o Aotearoa.
