Jonathan King is a film maker and comic creator. He is from a well-known literary family, son of leading New Zealand historian Michael King and brother of writer Rachael King. He lives in Wellington with his wife, Rebecca Priestley, also a writer, and their three children. Jonathan has worked as a graphic designer, produced and directed music videos and films, and has taught at the New Zealand Film School and Massey University. King’s debut feature, the comedy horror Black Sheep, remains one of New Zealand’s biggest-selling feature films and received multiple international awards. King co-wrote, co-produced and directed a film adaptation of New Zealand children’s classic Under the Mountain by Maurice Gee, starring Sam Neill, which has been released worldwide. The Inkberg Enigma is his first children’s book.
