Kemi & Niko are a multi disciplinary artist duo working across art and design in their socially engaged, values based practice. Graduates of Massey University (BFA & BDes, respectively) their projects connect the public to the environment and each other, often utilising salvaged materials. Last year they created Urban Hut Club for the NZ Festival of the Arts, building 6 new mini huts for public enjoyment. The biggest and most mobile of these huts, Roaming Hut, will return to Wellington for Garden Party filled with an exciting roster of artist activations.

The Garden Party appearances

The Roaming Hut will be situated just beside the Soundshell and has activities in it throughout The Garden Party. The schedule is:
Saturday 20 Feb
10am - 1pm: Tarot with Jean Sergent (pre-book your spot or walk up on the day if space is available)
2pm - 3.30pm: Tiny Poetry Stage (intimate performances with top Aotearoa poets)

Sunday 21 Feb
10am - 12pm: Flag making craft activity for families
12.25pm: Artist talk about The Roaming Hut (and other huts!) with Kemi & Niko
1pm - 3pm: Tarot with Jean Sergent (pre-book your spot or walk up on the day if space is available)
