L.J. Ritchie is a Wellington-based author of young adult fiction. His debut novel, Like Nobody’s Watching, which deals with themes of surveillance and cyber-bullying, was a finalist in the 2017 New Zealand Book Awards for Children & Young Adults. His second novel, Monsters of Virtue, is a work of speculative fiction for young adults based around the real history of New Zealand’s eugenics movement in the ’20s and ’30s. He was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome (which is now classified as a subset of Autism Spectrum Disorder) in 2002.
