12pm: Food Court Books, 84 Constable St
Visions: drawing poetry
In this festival celebrating creativity, process your feelings with your hands while listening to poetry. Be inspired by the images conjured by these poets, and make your own artwork while absorbing their words. Drawing materials, blank paper, and witchy colouring-in artwork by Cosmo Bones will be supplied. What will you be inspired to create? Featuring: Hannah Mettner, Sugar Magnolia Wilson, Sinead Overbye, Miriama Gemmell, and Dani Yourukova.

1pm: Book Hound, 132 Riddiford St
On The Essay
Across the world there has been a happy explosion of long form creative nonfiction. Join Kiran Dass and Madison Hamill (Specimen) for a conversation with Brannavan Gnanalingam about creative nonfiction: the processes of writing it, reading it, and sometimes reviewing it.

2pm: Book Haven, 160 Riddiford St
The Commercial Hotel: John Summers
John Summers’ latest book of essays, The Commercial Hotel, covers, among other things, ghosts, school camps, the Commodore 64 computer, the house built by Prime Minister Norman Kirk, eels, and the Arcoroc mug. The result, reviewer Tom Doig says, is “Meticulously researched, gorgeously written and endlessly surprising, ... a compendium of sparkling oddities.” (The Spinoff). Join John and writer Thomasin Sleigh for a curious time.

3pm: Another Chapter, 6 Riddiford St

Meet Angelique Kasmara, the author of the stunning new novel Isobar Precinct. Angelique talks with her publisher Mary McCallum (The Cuba Press, Mākaro Press) about her journey as a writer and the inspirations for her creative writing.
